La ventilación pulmonar VP es el caudal de aire que ingresa o egresa de los pulmones en la unidad de
tiempo. Es el producto del VC por la frecuencia respiratoria FR: VP = VC . FR. En reposo, VC = 500
mL y FR = 12/min; por tanto VP es de 6 L/min. En la actividad física VP
alcanza decenas de L/min.

La suma de dos o más volúmenes se denomina capacidad; las tres fundamentales son:
1. Capacidad vital (CV): el volumen máximo inhalable luego de una espiración máxima, o exhalable después de una espiración máxima. Es la suma de VRE + VC + VRI (aprox. 4,5 L).
2. Capacidad residual funcional (CRF): el volumen que permanece en los pulmones al final de una espiración normal. Es suma de VRE + VR (aprox. 2,2 L).
3. Capacidad pulmonar total (CPT): El máximo volumen que pueden contener los pulmones. Suma de VRI + VC + VRE + VR, o de CV + VR.

VRI, VC, VRE y CV se pueden medir por espirometría (Izq.). Un espirómetro es un dispositivo con válvulas de una vía, en el cual el sujeto inspira y espira en un recipiente graduado. El VR no puede medirse espirométricamente pues no puede ser exhalado. Para determinar VR se necesitan técnicas especiales, como la inhalación de helio o la pletismografía. Nótese que VR debe conocerse para calcular CPT y CRF.

Órgano principal del aparato circulatorio, propulsor de la sangre en el interior del organismo a través de un sistema cerrado de canales: los vasos sanguíneos. Está compuesto esencialmente por tejido muscular (miocardio) y, en menor proporción, por tejido conéctivo y fibroso (tejido de sostén, válvulas), y subdividido en cuatro cavidades, dos cavidades superiores llamadas aurículas (derecha e izquierda),y dos cavidades inferiores llamadas ventrículos (derecho e izquierdo); separadas por un tabique medial.
Cada aurícula comunica con el ventrículo que se encuentra por debajo mediante un orificio (orificio auriculoventricular), que puede estar cerrado por una válvula: las cavidades izquierdas no comunican con las derechas en el corazón. El corazón está situado en la parte central del tórax (mediastino), entre los dos pulmones, apoyándose sobre el músculo diafragma y precisamente sobre la parte central fibrosa de este músculo; está en una situación no totalmente medial, ya que en su parte inferior está ligeramente inclinado hacia el lado izquierdo (cerca de un cuarto a la derecha y tres cuartos a la izquierda de la línea medial).
El tejido muscular del miocardio está compuesto por células fibrosas estriadas, las cuales, a diferencia de las fibras musculares de los músculos voluntarios, se unen a unas a las otras por sus extremidades de manera que forman un todo único (sincitio) para poder tener una acción contráctil simultánea; cada fibra contráctil está formada por fibrillas elementales, dispuestas longitudinalmente, que tienen la propiedad de acortarse y alargarse en su diámetro longitudinal. Estas fibras se unen para formar haces musculares, dispuestos en diversas capas, bien en sentido circular, bien en sentido longitudinal y oblicuo (respecto a la base del corazón), de manera que puedan ejercer de la mejor manera la función para la cual está destinado el miocardio, es decir, la expulsión de la sangre cardíaca hacia los vasos arteriales.

Es el la representación gráfica de las trasmisiones de las derivaciones del voltaje del corazón, entiendáse por derevaciones de voltaje a la despolarización y repolarización de las ramas derecha e izquierda del haz de his.
Apearece primero la onda P, esta representa la despolarización de las aurículas; después sigue el complejo QRS, el cual está representando por la despolarización de los ventrículos; por último aparece la onda T, que es la repolarización de los ventriculos.

El Hígado, es la víscera más voluminosa del ser humano. Pesa alrededor de 1,5 kg, es de color rojo oscuro y está situado en la parte superior derecha de la cavidad abdominal, justo bajo el diafragma. El hígado tiene dos vías por las que recibe sangre: la arteria hepática transporta sangre oxigenada procedente del corazón, y la vena porta, que transporta sustancias alimenticias desde el estómago y los intestinos. Estos vasos sanguíneos penetran en el tejido hepático y se dividen hasta formar capilares diminutos.
El hígado obtiene su propio suministro de sangre oxigenada de la arteria hepática, que se bifurca de la aorta. La sangre que abandona el hígado es recogida por las venas hepáticas, unidas entre sí para formar una sola vena hepática, que vierte la sangre que transporta en la vena cava inferior; desde la vena cava inferior la sangre regresa al lado derecho del corazón, para ser bombeada hacia los pulmones.

Los impulsos nerviosos son ondas transitorias de variación del voltaje que existe a nivel de la membrana celular (axón), que se inician el sitio en consecuencia de una estímulo. Cada una de estas ondas corresponde a un cambio de potencial de reposo a un potencial de acción. Es decir, en el axón ocurre un cambio de permeabilidad a determinados iones, principlamente de N+ y K+, por lo que se origina una despolarización (entrada del Na+ a la membrana) de la membrana en reposo; y luego esta se repolariza ( entrada de K+ y salida de Na+), así también la membrana de la celula nerviosa, en la parte del axón consta de vaina de mielina, esto funciona como un aislante y hace que el potencial de acción vaya de nodo de ranvier (espacios entres las vainas de mielina) a otro, es dedir que salte de nodo a otro y, por consiguiente, el impulso nervioso es mucho más rápido.

Es el potencial de la menbrana celular para un determinado ión, puede ser postivo o negativo. Es decir, en un potencial de reposo donde hay permeabilidad al K+, el interior de la membrana será negativo -90mv; y para el potencial de acción, la membrana tendrá un carga interiror debido al ingreso del Na+ de +45mv.

Es cuando aparece un cambio de permeabilidad al Na+ en la membrana celular nerviosa, y esto se representa como una despolarización; por consiguiente a esto le sigue una repolarización y la conductancia de la membrana celular es más permeable al K+. Este mecanismo es la base del desarrollo de un impulso nervios, y lo dicho anteriormente ocurre en el axón del nervio, donde se representa de la siguiente manere: primero, hay una polarización, la carga del interior de la membrana es negativo; luego por acción de un estímulo se desencadena la apertura de canales de iones, específicamente de la entrada de Na+ y esto provoca que se origine cargas positivas en el interior de la membrana. Sin embargo, el cambio de despolarización a repolarización es rápido, por lo tanto mientras se abren los canales de Na+, se cierran la salida de K+ y luego se abre lentanmente la salida de potasio y se cierran los canales de Na+.

Por otro lado,también se habla de un umbral, este se representa como un nivel de excitación de la membrana, lo cual significa que la despolarización debe de pasar este umbral para que se se desencadene el impulso nervioso; también se le conoce como la ley del todo o nada.

La membrana celular es más permeable al ión K+, es quiere decir que se orgina un carga negativa en el interior de la membrana (-90mv) y una cara positiva en el exteiror celular. Es así que por la dierencia de potenciales los canales de la membrana por permiten el paso de iones Na+, sólo hasta que se produzca un estímulo y se origine potencial de acción. 

Estos órganos son los protagonistas del proceso de respiración, así también son los organos más grandes de nuestro cuerpo y están protegidos por un caja torácica. Su función esencial, compartida con el sistema circulatorio, es la distribución de oxígeno y el intercambio de gases.
El pulmón derecho está dividido en tres lóbulos: superior, medio e inferior; mientras que el pulmón izquierdo, sólo en dos lóbulos: superior e inferior.
El pulmón está recubierto por una membrana serosa que presenta dos hojas, una que se adhiere a los pulmones, llamada pleura visceral, y otra que tapiza el interior de la cavidad torácica, denominada pleura parietal. Estas dos capas se encuentran en contacto, deslizándose una sobre otra cuando tus pulmones se dilatan o contraen. Entre ellas se encuentra la cavidad pleural, que se encarga de almacenar una pequeña cantidad de líquido, cumpliendo una función lubricadora - es decir, el surfactante, el cuál es producido por los neumocitos II. Pero la misión principal de la membrana pleural es evitar que tus pulmones rocen directamente con la pared interna de la cavidad torácica, manteniendo una presión negativa que impide el colapso de los pulmones.

LA FUNCION DE LOS RIÑONES 
La principal función del riñón es conservar el equilibrio de líquidos y electrolitos del organismo. Esta labor se lleva a cabo por la filtración  continua de sangre. El riñón recibe 20% del gasto cardiaco, que le permite filtrar unos 1600 litros de sangre al día. 
Produce eritropoyetina, que es un determinante crítico cuando se presenta anemia grave. La eritropoyetina es una hornona secretada por riñones en adulto y por el hígado en el feto. 
Actúa en la conservación de la homeostasis de calcio y fósforo, incluye las interacciones complejas de hormonas paratiroidea, calcitonina, vitamina D y tres órganos intestino, riñón y hueso. 
Producción de la forma activa de la vitamina D y  eliminación de calcio y fósforo.
